U.S. National Problem Gambling Helpline
Support starts with a conversation.
1-800-MY-RESET
Call, text, or chat for help finding gambling support resources. The NCPG helpline is available 24/7 for people affected by gambling and their loved ones.
Chat at 1800myreset.orgMessage and data rates may apply. Helpline information from NCPG, checked October 22, 2026.
If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In the U.S., call 911. The gambling helpline is not an emergency service.
Find NCPG resources by state. Outside the U.S., use a local gambling support service or health provider.
Decide your limits before you start.
- Set a time limit and a spending limit in advance. Stop when either is reached.
- Never wager money needed for rent, food, bills, savings commitments, or other living expenses.
- Do not borrow to gamble, chase losses, or treat betting as income.
- A winning streak is not a reason to raise your limits. A creator's past results cannot predict your next outcome.
Notice when it stops feeling like a choice.
Warning signs can include spending more time or money than intended, hiding gambling, borrowing money, feeling distressed when trying to stop, chasing losses, or neglecting work, relationships, and everyday responsibilities.
You do not need to wait for a crisis to ask for support. If gambling feels difficult to control, pause and speak with someone you trust or a support service.
Make room for a break.
- Turn off gambling-related notifications in your device settings. Pause app alerts where available.
- Unfollow or mute triggering accounts where supported, or step away from the feed.
- Set deposit, time, and loss limits directly with each sportsbook where offered.
- Use the operator's cooling-off or self-exclusion tools. A state regulator or gambling support service may help you find broader exclusion options.
- Talk with a trusted person and seek professional or peer support when needed.
Different operators have different controls. Check when a limit takes effect and how long it lasts.
Slate and sportsbook controls are separate.
You can delete your Slate account from the Settings page in the app. This website does not accept deposits or place wagers.
Slate cannot self-exclude you from a third-party sportsbook through this site. Configure sportsbook limits and exclusions with the relevant operator or regulator.
Support & safety provides contact and reporting information. For immediate gambling support, use the helpline above.
Support is for family and friends, too.
You can contact the gambling helpline about someone you care about. Choose a calm time to talk, describe what you have noticed, and seek advice about practical support and your own boundaries.
You do not have to manage the situation alone or take responsibility for someone else's gambling losses.
Legal age. Lawful location.
Slate's download age rating is 12+. This rating does not grant permission to gamble.
Any gambling activity requires the applicable legal gambling age and a physical location where that activity is lawful. Rules differ by jurisdiction and operator. A screenshot or link does not establish eligibility.
